The 2nd International Basketball Tournament, powered by ECOMMBX, will be much more than a major sporting event. Through its partnership with the Nicholas Zoe Foundation, the tournament will also carry an important social and charitable message by supporting childhood cancer research.
Neoclis Theocharides, Sport Representative of ECOMMBX, spoke with Alexia Potamitou, founder of the Nicholas Zoe Foundation and mother of Nicholas, about the Foundation’s participation in this special basketball celebration in Larnaca.
Alexia Potamitou expressed her excitement and gratitude for the partnership while highlighting Nicholas’ special connection with basketball.
“Nicholas loved basketball. He was strong and dynamic, and he knew exactly what he wanted. His hope and wish were that no other child would have to suffer the way he did. That is the mission of the Foundation,” she said.
Through its presence at the tournament, the Nicholas Zoe Foundation aims to raise awareness about childhood cancer, bring people together and collect funds to support vital research.
The Foundation will have its own dedicated stand at the venue, where spectators will be able to donate in person. A special donation link will also be released, allowing those unable to attend the event to contribute remotely.
“Every small contribution counts. Even one euro matters to us. This is research that we should all support so that we can help find answers,” Alexia Potamitou stressed.
The tournament will take place in Larnaca with the support of Petrolina AEK and will be powered by ECOMMBX. Games will be held on September 4, 5 and 6, with free admission for the public.
MK will also make a special appearance on Saturday, September 5, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., adding even more excitement to this major basketball celebration.
